Mirabelle Avenue [3-3-21]
On the evening of Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021 the Westbury Fire Department was called to a structure fire on Mirabelle Avenue off Stewart Avenue. Responding fire department units were advised by Westbury Fire Dispatch that multiple calls were being received reporting the fire. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with smoke showing and found fire on the first floor of a two-story private dwelling. A working fire was transmitted, and mutual aid notified. Firefighters went on to put one hand line into operation and had the main body of fire quickly knocked down. The fire was contained to the area it began and did not extend to the second floor. There was no one home at the fire and one feline was safely removed. Among the departments called for mutual aid was Carle Place, Hicksville, and East Meadow. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Westbury Chief of Department Gass [9601].
