Post Avenue [9-10-17]

On the afternoon of Sunday, September 10th, 2017 the Westbury Fire Department was dispatched to smoke from the laundromat at the intersection of Post Avenue and Cross Street. When firefighters arrived on scene they were met with smoke showing from a laundromat located at 278 Post Avenue. Upon making their way into the building firefighters found that they had a dryer fire with possible extension into the common cockloft leading to the transmission of the working fire. Hicksville was designated the FAST and responded with Ladder 936. Firefighters made a quick knockdown of the fire and upon opening up found that the fire did not extend despite smoke pushing from the roof. All fire department units were under the command of Westbury Chief of Department Bartunek [9601].
