Sheridan Street [11-21-22]

On the morning of Monday, November 21st, 2022, the Westbury Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Sheridan Street between Railroad Avenue and Broadway. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with smoke showing from a one story vacant private dwelling. Upon further investigation fire was found in the basement leading to the transmission of a working fire and request for mutual aid. Firefighters stretched two hand lines, put at least one hand line into operation, and had the main body of fire quickly knocked down. The cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Westbury Chief of Department Carr [9601].
