Ocean Avenue [7-19-16]

Around 02:15 hours on the morning of Tuesday, July 19th, 2016 the Woodmere Fire Department was dispatched to an automatic alarm at 119 Ocean Avenue off of East Broadway. When the first fire department units arrived on scene they found heavy fire in the two, three corner of a two story private dwelling. This led to the immediate transmission of a signal ten [working fire] and the request for the mutual aid units. Woodmere Engine 353 was the first engine company to arrive on scene and went on to have at least two lines stretched and operating inside the home. Woodmere Ladder 352 was the first truck to arrive on scene and took to the front of the home. Additional mutual aid was called from Lawrence Cedarhurst, Lynbrook, Rockville Centre, Hewlett, Inwood, and Valley Stream among others. The cause of the fire was under investigation and no injuries were reported. The fire was placed under control in under an hour.
